By alternating intervals with recovery periods, you can increase the amount of work per session, thereby increasing the impact each workout has on your fitness and fat loss. Even if you have just 10 pounds to lose, intervals are the key to your success. What makes intervals so effective is that the recovery periods allow you to maintain higher power outputs during hard efforts, and accumulate more time at those higher outputs. Whereas, if you are training at a steady pace - it is a diminishing effort. By the end of the hour, you may feel like you're pulverizing the pedals, but you're producing a fraction of the power you were 45 minutes earlier. Training at a steady pace burns calories today; intervals burns calories today and enable you to burn more later.

3. Eat complex carbohydrates with fiber and protein. Try oatmeal with yogurt and eggs for breakfast and steer clear of fast foods and sugary foods like donuts. Sugary foods gives you an insulin spike which will increase your blood glucose levels, and an hour later you get a sugar low and feel totally down.

4. Few easy ways to balanced meals - have vegetable soups or salads for lunch with small amounts of protein. Add a piece of fruit before or after a meal. Eat meat, poultry or fish with a mixed salad, instead of potatoes (one of the few acid forming vegetables), rice or pasta.   3. I agree... starving yourself does wreck your metabolism. Studies showed that people who only ate 500 calorie dinners every day lost less weight than people who ate 3 sensible meals per day.

  7. Try to eat 5-6 times a day in lesser amount. It will help you get all the energy that your body needs and you won't starve yourself. Be sure to not take anything after 8PM.
