Alternatively Healthier
by Kalynn Amadio
Alternative health practices are gaining popularity simply because they work. Conventional health care treats diseases that have already struck, alternative health care seeks to create and maintain the best health while stopping disease and physical ailments before they begin. Old fashioned methods of keeping healthy are worth another look. That is why alternative health regimens are becoming popular again. The most coveted benefit of alternative health methods is the holistic approach taken by practitioners. The idea that the mind body and spirit work together to maintain wellness.
Your Health
Alternative health is the fastest growing segment of the health care industry in America. Alternative health offers amazing benefits such as increased self-awareness, abounding peace, feelings of "centeredness," and increased mental and physical health. The best alternative therapy or health products for your individual needs can be researched at Alternatively-Healthier.com. Without researching appropriate alternative health methods your wellness, peace of mind, and well-being can suffer, leaving you feeling "stuck" with conventional health care methods that you may feel are too invasive.
The Body
Do you know what your body needs? People seek out alternative health care practitioners because they tend to treat the whole body including the mind and spirit. Chiropractic care is a type of alternative health care or alternative medicine that specifically focuses on the body's skeletal structure. This structure is not just bones but nerves and muscles and their associated functionality.
Chiropractic practice deals with the numerous ill affects that can take a toll on the body due to misalignment of the spine. Treatment requires physical manipulation of the body's structure to relieve pain and discomfort. Chiropractic treatment never turns to surgery to fix spinal and muscular ailments. Moreover, people who rely on a natural approach to body care feel a greater control over their health.
The Holistic Approach
When you consider that scientific evidence has indicated that more than 90% of cancers are environmentally induced, and that about 80% of health problems are either created or negatively affected by stress, it starts to make sense to look at health in a holistic way. Alternative health practitioners tend to emphasize a holistic approach to patient care.
Holistic medicine courses are available in degreed as well as non-degreed programs. Alternative health physicians study holistic medicine in great depth in courses like physiology and anatomy, disease and pathology, detox methodology, herbal medicine in both Western and Eastern philosophies, homeopathy, holistic nutrition and counseling, flower essence remedies, iridology and other natural medicine.
Today, there are a number of natural healing schools that provide basic holistic workshops and seminars to the general public; which may include beginner classes in self-massage, home herbal remedies, holistic nutrition (including vitamins and supplements), iridology, reflexology, and other alternative health specialties.
Alternative health practice looks at how the Mind-Body-Spirit relates to its external surroundings. Alternative health may include taking vitamin supplements, doing yoga and eating organic vegetables, but more importantly it is about creating health while obstructing disease before it begins.
The increased popularity of alternative health is a bonus to chiropractic medicine as an inclusive part of regular health maintenance. The differences from technology to alternative medicine is a strength in our world. We are responsible for our health and it is good to remember that there is always a choice in medical care. Alternative health continues to grow as we seek holistic solutions to our health complaints so we may hold on to a better quality of life for more years than previously thought possible.
Leave your doubt behind and journey through the portal for alternative health information. Discover valuable insight to herbal remedies that care for the body as a whole, instead of one individual complaint.

How To Lose Belly Fat- And It Is Not What You Think
Belly fat is something that we should get rid of in our lives if possible. This is because it is harmful to your health as it surrounds major organs in the waist area. Doctors have reported seeing more patients who have unhealthy cholesterol, heart diseases and such all because of belly fat.
You can easily lose your belly fat fast just as long as you are willing to commit to following the steps I have laid out below.
Lose belly fat by eating more often. Yes, it does not sound right but it is true. Instead of eating three heavy meals a day, choose to eat four to five small meals during the day. If you are able to, go for low starch meals.
You can opt to have a slightly heavier and balanced meal at the beginning of the day. The reason for this arrangement is to prevent you from overeating, which happens to be the major cause for belly fat. In addition, such arrangements can increase your body metabolic rate as your body needs to use energy to digest food.
Lose belly fat by exercising. Have a spread between aerobic exercise and strength training. Your aerobic exercise can include quick runs, biking and any other intense aerobic activities. Keep to one to two 15 minute routine each day. For strength training, all you need is a couple of barbells. Working out with barbells can result in your abdominal muscles working harder.
Do not fall into the trap of thinking crunches and sit-ups can target your belly fats. They are not able to. The fact is that although these exercise can cut down on your overall body fats, they just cannot target any part of your body fat specifically.
To learn how to lose belly fat fast, you need to put in more than healthy eating habits and sufficient exercises in place. A positive outlook and the will to commit to your goal is also a MUST to ensure that you take action consistently.

How to Lower Cholesterol - High Cholesterol and other Conditions
One of the common conditions that affect only the male population is erectile dysfunction. Research has shown that there is a higher probability of male who has high level of LDL cholesterol to also have erectile dysfunction.
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the inability to either achieve or maintain an erection during sexual activity. ED can be the result of either psychological or physical problems. The most common physical contributing factors to erectile dysfunction is the presence of high cholesterol and other vascular issues.
Atherosclerosis occurs when plaque builds up in arteries due to high levels of LDL cholesterol. This plaque can obstruct and narrow the arteries resulting in the restriction of blood flow. Erectile dysfunction can result when the blood flow to the arteries of the penis are restricted due to atherosclerosis.
Another dangerous condition is Nephrotic. This is also connected to high LDL cholesterol level in the body. This is dangerous because the blood vessel that leads to the bladder is damage by cholesterol plaque. This will cause protein leakage into the urine. This potentially will result in kidney disease, kidney transplant of dialysis.
How nephrotic happened is not clear, but it has shown that combination of decreasing blood pressure, protein intake and lowering levels via diet and medication have an impact on nephrotic syndrome occurrence.
Interestingly, individual who display the nephrotic syndrome are usually high with LDL cholesterol as well.
Peripheral Artery Disease:
For individual who had heart attack, stroke or suffers from coronary artery disease will be at higher risk of having Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), this is a form of peripheral vascular disease.
Including high cholesterol, other disease like diabetes, obesity, sedentary lifestyle and being a smoker have shown to be the likely factors that lead to PAD.

How to Shed Unwanted Fat Fast
* Obesity or weight problems that may run in the family * Past or present psychological issues * Desire to lose weight
Excessive weight causes many problems; some but not all are physical aspects. Whilst the number of physical and mental effects on an overweight person is great, it is amazing how these can be turned around when a person starts to lose weight. It must be said that most rapid weight loss programs will require some form of emotional support from close friends or relatives; regular exercise and a healthy nutritious diet are also going to be part of this plan. The diet plan must be flexible to your tastes other wise it will fail, put aside at least a quarter of an hour every day to carry out some form of physical activity like brisk walking, running or other type of cardiovascular exercise.
Do not worry if your weight loss plan is not producing results as quickly as you would like; everyone has a different metabolism and some will see results faster than others; this is perfectly natural so do not become despondent. In instances like these it is best to substitute a more rigorous exercise program to compensate and learn to listen to your body and adjust your diet plan accordingly. If you find a plan isn't working as it should then perhaps you will need to change the diet plan as each person's metabolism is different and you cannot expect every diet plan to work.
You may find that you are more comfortable walking than any other form of exercise; however, try to improve the pace you walk at as your diet progresses, remembering that you will look better when your fat is converted into muscle. Exercise often means a great deal of body fluids are lost and need to be replaced; whether on a rapid weight loss program or not, don't forget the benefits of at least six 8oz glasses of water each day because it also flushes out nasty toxins as well. Avoid fat drenched deep fried foods which can also mean fish and chicken if you are eating the wrong part of the animal.
It is recommended for those on a strict diet to opt for grilled food as this contains a smaller amount of fat after the food has been cooked. It is not a good idea to cut out carbohydrates altogether as they are the fuel your body needs to keep going. By sticking to this type of plan you can expect to lose around a pound in weight per day but bear in mind that once you stop, the weight will go back on again.

Understanding Depression in Males
For many generations men have worked on perfecting their techniques for concealing their feelings. Perhaps this has been born of the need to be able to get on with their work in any event dispite the demands they might be under. Men also promptly turn to drugs, alcohol, sex, or more work, moreso than women, as mechanisms for avoiding having to address undesirable feelings They believe that they can get over their depression by trying to give themselves something else to concentrate on. This cannot, of course, really fix the issue.
Men are less expected than women to seek out treatment for their depression, though women are often just as unlikely to disclose that there is a problem. This is why the aid of family and fiends is so critical in the healing process.
Men can mask their depression well. Unlike women, they really do want to be left alone and not for purposes of reaching out eventually in good time. Men will hide their depression because they feel humiliation and dread. Many of those who are close to a man who has committed suicide will say that they didn't have a clue - a awful indication of the power of some men to hide their feelings. Such men struggle silently and alone against their depression until it absolutely overwhelms them.
A man's friends need to be informed of the symptons of depression. Does it seem like he is endeavoring to change to much? Is he oversleeping, not sleeping at all, demonstrating frequent tension or stress, and even anger. Exploring these issues with a male partner or family member can be tricky. If a man is sincerely battling depression, you may need to plod slowly.
Be careful not to push too hard or too quickly when it comes to finding help, as you may be met with fury and denial. In the first stage of depression, the subject is in pain but generally truly does not know why. People will blame circumstances. Adolescents will blame their home lives, and married men will generally blame their wives. Be aware while the man may recongise that their pain is not normal, this does not mean that they will be at once open to the idea of therapy.
If you want to help someone seek treatment, they are going to have to make that assessment themselves. All you can do is tell them that you are worried about them. Do more listening than talking. Show your support by telling them that you love or care for them. Ideally, make them feel that this is something that the two of you are going to take on together, and that they are not alone.

Stress Management Can Improve With Musical Therapy
Music therapy has been proven to rid a patient of any health or stress related issues they may be experiencing. Music is used to heal many emotional, physical, and mental problems that people have.
Therapy has shown that it can increase the rate at which you function mentally. Not only will this accelerate your healing, but it will cause you to be calm in nature and in being.
Therapists allow the patients to use various musical instruments and listen to the music that helps in relaxing the tensed muscles. Listening to music lets your worries float away and calms your body and well as mind.
Lyrics are another major component of any therapy session. The more positive the lyrics are, if there are any at all, the more positive your outlook on life will be. Listening to music will help you succeed.
The system that is responsible for our activeness and energetic level is strongly influenced by the music tone. A physical connection is established with sounds and frequencies.
Soothing feelings only come when the patient is exposed to various styles of music. If you constantly listen to the same style of music, you may not feel relaxed at all. Let your emotions dictate the therapy.
Listening to any kind of music which has a fast tempo, will increase your heart rate. This is why it is suggested that you listen to a soft, mellow, kind of music. Be sure and take note of your nerves during your sessions and report those feelings to your therapist at day's end.
Instead of going to a therapist you can also listen to the music to relax yourself. You may want to listen to music when you wake up in the morning or the last thing before going to bed after a tiring day. Talking a walk while listening to music can also help you relax.
Ask about musical therapy as a second treatment option. If you have a treatment plan in place now, try and substitute your own music plan behind the scenes.

How safe is the South Beach Diet?
What are the benefits of the South Beach Diet? The biggest benefit found on the South Beach Diet isn't weight loss. It's learning how to eat healthier. The South Beach Diet teaches you how to tell the difference between good and bad carbs, and clues you in on what fats are ok to eat and which ones aren't. These simple facts are what make the South Beach Diet so effective.
There are many foods out there that are not good for us to eat: candy, chips, cake, chili cheese fries. Eating a lot of foods that are high in both sugar and saturated fat is part of an extremely unhealthy diet. In Phase 1 of the South Beach Diet, you eliminate these problematic foods from your diet by reducing your "sweet calories" to 75 per day.
Is it safe to stop eating fruits and grains during Phase 1? Another part of the South Beach Diet that is sometimes questioned is the removal of fruits and grains during Phase 1. We have been taught over the years that these foods are healthy, and they are. The South Beach Diet just teaches us that these foods are better for us when we consume them in moderation.
Phase 1 is generally thought of as the most difficult part of the South Beach Diet, but it only lasts two weeks. This time is used to break your body's addiction to sugars and carbs, and you emerge with a nice start on your weight loss. Best of all, you no longer crave those foods. As you enter Phase 2, you begin eating them again on different terms.
How does the South Beach Diet affect pregnant women? Women who are pregnant have different nutritional needs and responsibilities. Therefore, if you are pregnant and you decide to go on the South Beach Diet, it is recommended that you skip over Phase 1 and start the diet in Phase 2.
Likewise, due to the fact that growing is still taking place and two weeks without grains and fruit can make them lethargic, teenagers are quite often discouraged from following the South Beach Diet.
If you are in any doubt as to whether the South Beach Diet will be good for you, it only takes a quick consultation with your doctor or nutritionist who will be more than happy to give you advice. Each and every one of us is different and it may be that the original South Beach Diet needs tweaking just a little to be appropriate for you.

An Astounding Art - Tae kwon do
by Kalynn Amadio
When you read the word art, are you thinking about mortal combat?
Probably not.
The martial arts have a side that few people ever see, it is a soft side planted in philosophical theory and not usually noted by those not in the arts. This softer side is just one great reason for kids to learn martial arts.
Parents often believe that letting their child learn a martial art will somehow teach them to be more aggressive and apt to get into fights. The reality is exactly the opposite. There is a core philosophy in martial arts that is the reason why.
Many martial artists refer to their training in two parts. Observe the ancient Chinese symbol of yin/yang which visually tells a tale of everything having an opposite, like hot and cold, earth and heavens, fire and water.
The martial arts external side is what we are used to seeing in the movies and on our televisions. External art is the hard, violent and often deadly force characters use to punish or overcome their adversaries. Yet, that is merely Hollywood's view.
A martial art is never, never taught only at its external, physical root. As with the yin-yang, the martial arts are surrounded by philosophical underpinnings of peace and harmony that form the internal, mental root. Specifically, internal martial arts study embraces the philosophy of Consequentialism or "right action."
The philosophy of Consequentialism is a moral value that says producing the right consequences is the highest calling any person has. Since all actions produce results, martial artists practice choosing the right action. They believe it is their duty to try and always choose the right action to bring the best consequences for the benefit of mankind.
This high ideal requires a great deal of insight, patience and acceptance of all people. It's no wonder that martial arts, most of which began in Asian countries, incorporate Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism in their foundations.
An ancient Korean proverb states, "Peace within the individual brings peace within the family; peace in the family brings peace in the community; peace in the community, peace in the country and peace throughout the world." as translated by author Doug Cook. It's easy to understand the idea that choosing the "right action" can have a phenomenal affect to not just the individual but eventually the world.
The concept of "right action" is but one of the many philosophical ideals that make up the internal root of martial arts study. A student of martial arts learns many punches and blocks, stances and kicks that in combination sculpt a complete external picture. Equally important are the internal concepts that provide the framework for that sculpture.
Any child who is fortunate enough to study martial arts learns exacting physical motions that increase strength and flexibility while learning self defense techniques and improving confidence. But at the same time, they learn to be a better person, a better citizen of the world. They learn that because they can physically defend themselves that they no longer need to. They have learned the "right action."
Suddenly, world peace doesn't sound so far fetched.

Why Are Natural Vitamin Supplements Necessary?
The exact type of natural vitamin supplement that you need will depend on several factors including your age, your fitness levels, quality of your diet and your general health. It is a very good idea to discuss your natural vitamin supplement needs with a qualified health practitioner. They can give you pointers to whether natural vitamin supplements are the right choice for you. A qualified health professional can also help you decide what vitamin supplement would be a good match for you.
A large variety of natural vitamin supplements contain antioxidants. They are designed to remove impurities from your body. This will lead to you having more energy, better patterns of sleep and all around improved health. Herbal vitamin supplements including goji berries or goji juice, are said to contain higher levels of antioxidants than other available supplements.
Herbal vitamin supplements can certainly be controversial. The FDA have not tested them for their efficacy. But you probably already know people in your own life who swear by them and claim to have never felt better than when they started using them. That being said, you should always use herbal vitamin supplements with caution. You'll find a large range of them on sale in health food stores and Online stores.
Natural vitamin supplements will certainly help you to keep a proper balance of vitamins and nutrients in your body, but you should never use them as an alternative to living a properly balanced and healthy lifestyle. Take the time and trouble to put some exercise in your life and work on improving your diet.
Do not use natural vitamin supplements as an excuse to lead a very unhealthy lifestyle - they are not a panacea.
You will not have any trouble purchasing any type of natural vitamin supplements both Online and offline.
Make sure that you read all of the labels on any natural vitamin supplements that you purchase. Make sure that you follow the dosage recommendations carefully. Both higher doses and lower doses than recommended can be harmful to your body.

Vegan Body Building - Can Vegans Be Bodybuilders?
We have a tendency to think of a vegetarian bodybuilder as the 98 pound weakling on the beach taking another face full of sand. Vegan body builders are quickly changing this view.
Vegetarian diets exclude all animal products including meat, milk, and dairy derivatives. Many meat eaters think that a vegan diet is inferior when it comes to building muscle simply because it does not contain animal protein. However, there are many complementary sources of vegetable protein available.
Protein is used by the body to repair torn muscle fibre and to boost the immune system as well as to build lean muscle mass. It is also important for the bodybuilder choosing a vegetarian lifestyle to make sure that he or she is getting adequate amounts of other necessary nutrients in their diet.
A well balanced vegetarian diet has all of the essential amino acids required by the body for the synthesis of protein. There are also numerable vegetarian protein supplements available in the stores so vegetarian body builders should have no difficulty meeting the body's needs for protein.
While supplements can play an important dietary role in a vegan bodybuilding diet plan, you can also obtain many necessary nutrients from fresh fruit and vegetable juices, Gatorade and Spirtein. Soy products are also a great source of protein, not only for vegetarians but for anyone wanting a more heart healthy lifestyle. Nuts are also a delicious alternative source of protein that are sometimes overlooked.
Vegan diets are not without controversy for body building. In spite of the recognized health benefits of soy, some critics claim that it may have long-term negative effects. There is more evidence of its health benefits however than of any harmful side effects. Each person thinking about a vegetarian diet for muscle building should do some independent research and then make up their own minds.
Adequate nutrition is more important to muscle building than the amount of time in the gym or even what you do there. Basic bodybuilding requires that you consume more calories than you burn or else you lose weight. If you are not eating enough, the more you workout, the more weight you lose! For vegetarians, this means you have to eat a lot of fresh foods and use protein replacement products.
Protein replacement products are not to be confused with the muscle building supplements sold in muscle magazines and on the internet to those people looking for a magic pill. There is no magic pill and for the most part the supplements are useless and sometimes actually harmful.
It can become discouraging to look through those magazines and see the ads for the latest "muscle enhancing" pill and the accompanying photos of beautiful physiques. Keep in mind that while the buffed bodies are nice to look at they are not attainable by the average builder and the ads are targeted toward the normal meat-eating, supplement-using muscle builder.
If a magazine or web site is not advocating natural bodybuilding, you need to look elsewhere. There are many good sources of guidance for the vegetarian bodybuilder and you do not need to pay attention to the steroid and HGH peddlers. Just make certain that you consume adequate nutrients and supplements in the right quantity to give you the beautiful sculpted body you desire!

Hollywood Mom Reveals 7 Secrets for Safe Successful Weight Loss
1. When a celebrity sits down with a trainer, the first thing that trainer does is remove from their diet the foods most hate to give up. It starts with the high fat luncheon meats. From their all fried foods and red meats are strictly prohibited. Why? Because these trainers know that to experience immediate weight loss results, their clients must eat more fruits and vegetables. Is it fun? Not really but if you want the results they get, you'll have to do what they do.
2. Make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Listen, I know this may not be the most exciting secret but I have one question for you. Do you do this? If not, start today and you will be stunned at the results. Water provides your body the needed fuel to safely burn more calories with much less effort.
3. Eat smaller portions. When you eat meals, one of the things you should keep in mind is the size of portions you are eating. Eat smaller portions and chew your food slower. If you take longer to enjoy your food then you will feel fuller faster. This will help in losing weight too.
4. Cut the late night munchies. Are you a person that snacks when they get bored? Snacking in some cases is okay however most people go overboard. While your snacks don't necessarily have to be fruits or vegetables, I highly recommend it.
5. Exercise. Exercise is one of the most important things in any diet regimen. This is because it gets the blood pumping through the veins which improves circulation and creates a healthy body. Exercise burns calories and weight. Your body cannot go without exercise for any reason and if you want to lose weight then you should develop a daily routine of at least 15 minutes of exercise.
6. When you know you are going to be away from home, bring foods that are healthy for you that you enjoy. Stay far from the pre-packaged crap that is nothing more than sugar in a box. You never want to find yourself out and about while hungry. Hungry people make poor eating decisions. I guess now you know why many of these movie sets have full time chefs on staff.
7. The final secret to losing weight is commitment. You must be able to fully commit to all of these steps in losing weight on a daily basis. If you are entirely committed you will watch the pounds shed off of your body and you will be healthier too.
If you are serious about losing weight then you need to take it seriously. Clean out your cupboards of all of the fatty foods that aren't healthy and start a new diet. Cut down on the amount of food you are eating and no more raiding the fridge in the middle of the night. Exercise daily and be sure to drink plenty of water. If you can dedicate your body to this regimen then you will notice weight loss within as soon as a week.

The Game of Life" Start your own coaching: 7 days program
Coaching is all about being a, well, 'coach' in the corporate world of handlers, front-liners and even a couple of benchwarmers biding their time to be given a chance to perform. I know how that feels when I go back to my regular day job. Some players are just MVP material, and some of them are just to support the MVP's so why bother sticking around? It sounds ironic when they say 'there is no I in team', but even the underachievers can be sore losers as well.
These are steps that can be done within the day, and no matter what, it takes determination to be a coach.
1. There is a WHOLE lot of talk these days about Corporate Team Building. There are many, many options: vacation packages, rope courses, on-going office games, ice-breakers, etc. Management can also purchase videos, books, and seminar packages to assist them in building up their organization into a team worthy of belonging. A little later I will give you some ideas of where you can go for information on these team-building tools.
2. The truth about motivation is waiting to be grasped! It is ripe and ready for you to put into action today. Don't settle for mind-numbing gibberish. Get practical in 3 small ways to begin looking forward to your alarm clock sounding off each morning before you huddle with the team.
3. Experience is the best thing despite of what course you graduated in. There is something about being a people person who knows how to stir the energetic side of one individual, and more so when you mix it up with an entire team.
4. To question a person by his or her performance is sometimes required, but never question their knowledge or their intelligence. Sadly, I have seen a few mistakes from past coaches who never seem to understand what a player has to go through to get the job right. It will lead to further aggravation and maybe even hostility. If you want the job done right, then go do it yourself. You'll see how it is to be at the receiving end and it will help your set a much better course for improvement.
5. Sending a player to the bench is probably the worse experience a coach has to go through, especially if your player is the top performer. In dealing with this kind of person, see to it that he spills his guts voluntarily. Egotism in a performer tends to make them lose their focus on even the smallest mistakes, then you can catch him or her red handed. Be firm, but understanding about it.
6. Don't allow your position to blind you from what you are supposed to do. Even coaches are human enough to think that they are far more superior, but only by rank. Even if you have been in their shoes when you were their age, it's better to dole out a piece of wisdom in order for them to realize that this will be for their own benefit.
7. Lastly, you should learn to trust yourself and your team. Decisions and performance are primarily your goals, and there are many of them to see if they could perform the task much more efficiently. So before you think about sending one member to the bench, have a good chat with him or her and see if they have any problems. If it's too personal, then just encourage them to do their best and it also helps to give them a good, encouraging slap on the back.
I guess there's all there is to it. Being a corporate drone myself, I know how important it is for a company to be successful, and we're all part of that success. Coaches are there not to make your work a little difficult just because you have either an attitude problem or not much a performer, but they're the guides who will help you perform as hard as you can possibly can. You'll do them proud one of these days, as well as you.

A Step By Step Self Esteem Treatment Plan
Most of the time, self esteem is a mental issue. But sometimes it's a physical issue as well - something that needs to be addressed with medicine. A lot of people have low self esteem these days and the number's growing! Not good. So let's take a look at a few simple plans.
First
Most people believe that self esteem is purely mental. Well, if you believed that, you'd be wrong as well. In fact, the physical aspect of self esteem is pretty crucial, so it's gonna be included in our treatment plan.
For example, let's just say that you have terrible body odor and people start walking away from you and point at you and snicker. Even though it affected your self esteem, it came from a physical cause.
This situation is simple enough - Just take a shower. Even though it was simple, you still need to include these types of cases in your treatment plan.
Second
All right, let's switch gears and talk about the mental issue of low self esteem.
Essentially, the process starts and ends with you. Every single healing process involves this core procedure. If you achieve this, others will subconsciously start respecting you as well.
For example, try this: If you find yourself berating yourself, consciously tell yourself that you just made a mistake and that you'll learn from it. Be consistent and it'll become a habit.
Keep trying. Really work to make it a habit. But if you don't notice significant results, or you feel your condition worsening, think about looking for professional therapy sessions.
This should get you started. Keep with the process and don't give up.

How You Can Benefit From Karate And Tae Kwon Do
By: Michael HehnThe martial arts are one of the fastest growing sports in America. Enrollments in Karate, Tae Kwon Do and Soo Tang Do classes are on the rise. In addition to being thought of for the physical fitness aspects, martial arts also seek to emphasize the student's character and discipline. Offered in a secular setting, it teaches students to be 'good people'.
With ever increasing popularity, many church communities are now offering Christian Karate. While character and discipline are important, more today a third aspect is integrated into martial arts, building the spiritual life of students. Churches are offering martial arts instruction that relates to God's instructions in the Bible. These classes are often used as an outreach ministry to introduce the Gospel to those who normally wouldn't attend a church service.
Classes emphasize courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance and an unconquerable spirit. These characteristics are key to the development in Christian life. Each week the students are given weekly topic and a memory verse. An example of what the students may receive would be a topic on Boldness vs. Fearfulness. They are taught to be confident that what they have to say or do is true and right and just in the sight of God. Acts 4:29 in the Bible would be relevant to this topic - 'And now they're at it again! Take care of their threats and give your servants fearless confidence in preaching your Message' (MSG).
These are key characteristics to develop in the Christian life. Self discipline, picking yourself up after 'falling short', ministering to others, and striving to live a life that bears fruit are traits can be practiced through the study of martial arts.
Martial arts do not teach violence, but rather restraint, not anger but rather self control and stillness. Students will develop their bodies through physical effort, challenge, and learn techniques of punching and striking. Power is given to us by God in the freedom of choice in our actions. Martial arts help us to learn that our privilege of power must be controlled and not used recklessly.
Now that we've covered those aspects of karate, tae kwon do, let's turn to some of the other factors that need to be considered.
Visit your local church or search online to find a group forming near you.
Tae Kwon Do is Korean Karate. It means The Way of the Hand and Foot (punching and kicking). There are basically four sections to the art: Toning, Sparring, Forms and Self Defense.
It is a well rounded exercise program that encompasses muscle toning, stretching and flexibility, increasing strength and stamina through aerobic sparring and mental challenges through becoming proficient at the patterns or forms.
Most classes start out with warm-ups. These exercises are the calisthenics such as push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, trunk rotations, squat kicks and various leg stretches. For certain you will tighten your abs and strengthen your arms just from performing the warm-up exercises. Before you know it, you'll be doing fifty knuckle or triangle push-ups at rapid-fire pace and will be able to lean up against a wall and have someone lift your leg up so that your toes touch the wall behind your ear. Tae Kwon Do will definitely help you to become or to stay limber.
Sparring is fighting in a controlled environment. It's not street fighting and all participants wear protective gear: helmet, gloves, shin guards and feet guards, called kicks. Usually you will spar in three minute rounds. It's basically kick boxing. Then a minute rest; switch partners, then spar again and repeat. You will get extremely hot and sweaty. Jab, punch, upper cut, side kick, reverse punch, round house, hammer fist, bob and weave and repeat. It's an excellent aerobic exercise.
Learning the forms or patterns can really tax your brain. Many of the forms have 26+ different movements. It's your job to remember them, in order, and learn them proficiently. In theory, by learning the forms, it'll help you to become a better fighter. For example, one form might start out: high block, front kick punch left; high block front kick punch right. Turn 90 degrees, down the center, knife hand left, knife hand right, knife hand left, spear hand. And so it goes. If you master these, when it comes time to spar, you can implement some of these patterns into your match.
Many people enjoy Tae Kwon Do, or any martial arts for that matter, because it is an all inclusive exercise program. It's fun, it's challenging, and it's an excellent way to get in or to stay in shape. As with any exercise program, start slowly and consult your physician. If you haven't participated in much physical exercise in a while, your muscles will definitely be very sore for the first few weeks. Don't be intimidated by the other students may appear to be in better shape that you are. Everyone started out as a white belt. Just have fun; and get moving!
Hopefully the sections above have contributed to your understanding of karate, tae kwon do. Share your new understanding about karate, tae kwon do with others. They'll thank you for it.
