How To Keep Going When You Want To Quit

By Sharmen Lane

As human beings seeking to achieve our goals, at some point, and possibly many times, we will hit road blocks that make us want to quit. The path to achieve our goals, no matter what they are can be a long and tumultuous ride. However, it can also be one of the most valuable and rewarding experiences of your life. It's probably safe to assume that if you set a goal that you had a passion or a strong a interest in that goal at some point. Even if you are working towards what you love, you may still feel like tossing in the towel when times get tough. To help you through those tough times, I have provided five tips to help you stay motivated and on your path to success.

1.Break the goal down into baby bite site pieces so you can see your progress quickly.

2.Know when to back away. Many times when you are pushing and pushing and things just don't seem to budge, you may need to just walk away from what you are doing for a little while. This can be difficult I know, because sometimes you just want to muscle through it. But if you find that you are getting increasingly frustrated and things just aren't going the way you want, then it is time to take a break. Take a walk, listen to your favorite music, call a positive friend, or go to the gym. You know what things make you feel good so have a few things in mind that you can do when you need to get away from your work.

3.Remember why you started in the first place. Sometimes when we are frustrated and things just aren't going our way, it's good to take a deep breath and ask yourself, "Why did I want to do this in the first place?" There was some reason that you chose this path, remembering it can help keep you on it.

4.Throw a temper tantrum. If enough is enough and you are fed up to the gills, throw a fit. Most of us did this when we were kids, and it's a great way to release that pent up frustration from our minds and our bodies. Get a pillow and beat the poop out of it. If you need to use your voice scream as loud as you can until you feel better (although if you are in a place where others can hear you, and you don't won't anyone to come running, I recommend screaming into a pillow). If you have a gym or place that has a punching bag use it. Getting the feeling out of your body can be a great release and open your mind at the same time.

5.Lend a helping hand. Getting out of your negative space and giving assistance to someone else can give you a great high to get you back on track. Think of someone you know that could use a hand at something. Check with a charity or something of the like and volunteer. Helping others helps everyone.

I hope these tips give you the strength and determination to get past those rough patches. Remember tough times happen for everyone, it's what you do to get through them that says a lot about who you are, and what your made of. One last thing, Robert Schuller said tough times never last, tough people do.

Moving the Martial Arts into the Next Century

By Al Case

The martial arts, to be truthful, were developed in third world countries. Of course, a hundred years ago, let alone a thousand or two, every country was a third world country. The unfortunate truth this leads to, however, is that the martial arts are taught using old, ancient and outdated methods.

A fellow is told to practice the horse stance. He is given horse stance forms to do. And, after a few years, sure enough, he becomes able to grip the ground pert good.

But...why wasn't he just given the data necessary to create an energy beam that could penetrate the earth? Yeah, channel your breath to the tan tien and make the energy grow. Now, shoot beams down your legs and connect with good, old mother earth.

And, if he has trouble, give him more data and create more understanding. Show him how to twist the legs so that he can make energy reach the ground. Show him how to push the legs so so that he can make energy come from the ground.

oh, I forgot, they didn't have physics necessary to describe what an energy beam was and how to build it with the body. Uh, to be truthful, they didn't have any physics. They had some pretty good mysticism, though.

The truth, however, is that mysticism is made up reasons for things you don't really understand. Mysticism comes from mystery, you see. And the methods of the ancients, shared by well meaning instructors, are based on the things that they didn't understand, or at least lacked a language to describe.

Oh, people still get the teachings, sort of. But it takes a lifetime. It takes a lifetime, and even then, if the student doesn't have the ability to discern and differentiate the tricks of language, he is going to pass on the same old tricks that enlighten a few, and befuddle the many.

So, new methods are needed. Real understanding is the goal if you are going to master the martial arts, and move on through the mystical realms described by the ancients. Sup to you, can you find me?

The Power Of Mind Is Everything!

By William J Stevens

As the college fund commercials back in the 80s said, 'the mind is a terrible thing to waste'. The commercial wasn't really about what we're going to be talking about here, but the idea is one which can be applied here as well. You definitely don't want to waste the power of the mind, especially your own. You can tap into the power of your own mind to make positive changes in your life.

You've certainly heard about the law of attraction; the idea behind the book and film 'The Secret'. Whatever you put your mental energy toward will come to you is the message of the work. Whether you do so consciously or not, the power of the mind is such that you can make whatever you focus on happen, whether for good or ill.

In a way, you can see this effect at work in clinical trials where it is known as the placebo effect. It's all about mind over matter. When you think about something; rather, when you believe in something, the power of the mind can make it happen.

You've no doubt seen the effect in your own life as well. For instance, you've no doubt woken up thinking that a particular day isn't going to be a good one. It shouldn't really be too much of a surprise when these days turn out not to be among your favorites. It has to do with the power of your mind - when you think a day is going to be a bad (or a great one) then your subconscious has the ability to make this happen.

There is an increasingly large body of scientific evidence which suggests that there is a basis for this phenomena in the laws of physics. A surprising idea comes from the world of quantum mechanics which suggests that matter (which at its most basic level is simply energy) exists only when being observed - suggesting that our minds may have more influence over the universe than we have let ourselves believe in the past.

There are scientists who are of the opinion that some of the things generally regarded as being supernatural phenomena such as ESP, remote viewing and astral projection may be explainable through science, although the way that they work is not yet entirely understood.

You may not have really given it any thought until now, but the power of the mind is something which you can put to work to make positive change in your own life. Wouldn't you want to learn how to work with the universe to get what you want using your own thoughts? There are a few techniques which can help you to do just that; keep reading to learn more about these methods.

If you want to use the power of the mind to accomplish something, it's best to have a specific goal; for example, if you'd like to become wealthy, set your mind on a specific amount instead of being well off in general. A specific target is easier to focus on.

There are people who already know how powerful the mind is and put their mental energy into the achievement of their goals. They focus on specific objectives and put all of their efforts towards their objective, using the full power of the mind. This is what makes it happen; it's more difficult than it sounds on paper, but it's something that all of us can achieve if we put our minds to it.

Suppose that there's a house that is just perfect for you - but it's not even for sale and you're not ready to buy a home at the moment. However, the power of the mind can make it all happen. Start focusing your mental energies on this goal. Visualize what vegetables you'd plant in the garden and what color you'd paint each room in the home. Put your energy into things which will help you be ready to make this home yours, such as looking into how to get a good mortgage, getting a better job or a promotion so that you'll be better off financially and other preparatory steps.

After you've put your effort towards it, your dream starts coming true - the house goes up for sale, you are able to secure the mortgage, your offer is accepted and everything goes fine. It's all because you've been putting your thoughts and your energy into achieving your goal; this is what makes it happen for you.

This is something you can do; something everyone can do. Believe in the power of your mind and you can achieve anything - set your mind on a small goal and work your way up to bigger and better things as you go.

Effective Communication, Effective Questioning, and Effective Coaching

By Bart Icles

As more and more companies and organizations integrate coaching in the training and development of their employees, more and more executives realize the value of having effective coaches. What makes an effective coach? One of the most important qualities that coaches should have is excellent communication skills. This does not necessarily mean that they are able to speak, read, and write more than one language, but having excellent communication skills means being able to communicate effectively. This gives rise to another important skill needed in motivating others and in making others understand what they need to do to become more successful - effective questioning.

To become successful, coaches must first learn to communicate with themselves before they can even learn to effectively communicate with others. The famous adage practice what you preach really applies to the art of coaching. One cannot expect to become an effective coach if he is not able to help himself. Effective communication starts from within and to test, it is best that you start to ask yourself questions. If you are not able to understand your own questions, how you can be sure that others will understand the questions you ask them?

Coaches can start asking themselves what is the one thing that they would want to do that would improve their way of life. Once they have answered this question, they should be able to develop ways on how to do that very thing that would change their life. Once the coach has come to understand the answers to his own questions, he can say that he is now ready to help others.

After a coach has established effective communication and questioning within him self, he is now ready to coach other people. To start the coaching process, the coach should ask the person being coached questions on the issues being faced, the goals that need to be set, how realistic goals are, the will to execute, and the options available. This should enable the coach to understand the needs of the person being coached, as well as the latter's evaluation of the different things that go around him, the different objectives that the latter wants to achieve, and how the latter wishes to achieve these goals.

In doing so, coaches are able to make the persons being coached develop goals and objectives and communicate these through simple specific statements. This can help much in improving a person's performance and this all starts with effective communication and effective questioning.

UFC 103 Fight Videos

By Ben Janke

UFC 103 is down live stream on mmavines.com on September 19, 2009. It is going to be a solid match between Rich Franklin versus Vitor Belfort. They are bold veteran MMA fighters with a pretty expansive history in the UFC. Which Franklin gets into the struggle with a record of sixty-seven victories, four losses, and zero draws. Vitor Bellfort comes into the UFC 103 Arena with a record of 12 wins and five losses.

This should be a great scrap as their manners match up pretty well with each different. I would give the edge to Vitor Belfort just because it appears like he's on more of a successful streak and appears to have more confidence getting to the engagement. Vitor has not fought in the UFC since 2005 and lost to Tito Ortiz in a split conclusion. His previous 5 before that any of discover was another loss to Randy Couture with a TKO stoppage.

Vitor Belfort just recently came back to the UFC after an extended since fighting different organizations and his last actual struggle had a great engagement against Matt Lindlin. Vitor knockout Matt in the first round would really boost his self-confidence in his scrap against Rich Franklin.

I think that Rich Franklin may be on the down side of his career. He recently had a solid fight against Vanderlei Silva in which Rich Franklin actually defeated Silva by decision. Even though he won, I think he looked a little bit sloppy in his performance. We'll have to discover how Rich Franklin does in this engagement. Needless to say, he still has the skills to take care of Belfort, but I think that Belfort will end up the victor.

Some of the different struggles on the UFC 103 live stream will be:

Junior Dos Santos versus Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic Martin Kampmann vs. Mike Swick Josh Koscheck vs. Frank Trigg Hermes Franca vs. Tyson Griffin Efrain Escudero vs. Cole Miller Jim Miller vs. Steve Lopez Rafaello Oliveira Vs. Nik Lentz Paul Daley vs. Brian Foster Tomasz Drwal vs. Drew McFedries Jason Brilz vs. Eliot Marshall Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Igor Pokrajac Rafael dos Anjos vs. Rob Emerson

On other cards, Mike Swick has been forced out of UFC 103 on September 19, 2009, due to a concussion he received when he was sparring this last week. He landed on his back of his head and neck and suffered a pretty serious concussion. It looks like EliteXC scrapper Paul Daley will replace Swick in the struggle against Martin Kampman. Martin Kampman is on a roll of late and looks solid against any of the fighters at 170. Paul Daley said I have a handful getting from elite XC to the UFC.

The undercard of Dos Santos vs Crocop should be a great struggle. Pro-cop has fallen to the wayside since he came over from Pride. In fact in his last fight, he only won because he poked his opponent in the eye and attacked before the ref could even stop the struggle. Obviously the ref didn't discover the eye poke. Most spiders though it typically stopped when they poke someone in the eye, but not Crocop. He attacked Al-Turka when he couldn't even discover. What a cheap combatant Crocop is. I think he was just so determined for a deliver the goods that he didn't care whether he you want in a cheap style or not. I hope he gets his face wiped on the mat by Dos Santos.

More Secrets Of Mindpower!

By Kevin B Shine

An estimated amount of ten percent of our mindpower, is all Scientists conclude we use. One can only imagine if we could actually access that ninety percent that we don't currently use. Incredible results for sure!

Whether born with extra sensory or psychic powers, scientists believe these are powers people were able to access within their own minds. Whether they had been born with these increased mindpower abilities or they were developed throughout life.

Even though it has never been totally comprehended, the advances we've made in quantum physics is starting to reveal the true link of what we experience in life, and what we think.

Studies are starting to confirm that the ancient religions that had been saying for thousands of years that reality is a product of your mind and that you can change the way you think has a lot of truth to it. Mindpower is really the only reality!

The law of attraction is best described in the movie, 'The Secret'. The theory behind the law of attractions that through their mind and the way they see things, they can change just about anything. Through their mindpower or the way that they think they can either attract abundance, or just about anything else they want in their life.

Law of attraction also refers to the whole universe and believes that every thing that is ever done has a consequence somehow tied to it. So one way to look at that is, whatever you want you can think about it, and get it. You need to learn how to communicate with your subconscious mind to tell it what you want. If you don't, it will assume you are happy with everything the way it is. Scientists call this the state of homeostasis.

What reacts with the universe is called universal consciousness. It's a way to manifest your desires by using the subconscious mind which is responsible for all the esp powers, for example, telepathy, remove viewing, and precognition.

The way to develop your mindpower is through communicating through your subconscious mind. There are a number of ways that you can communicate with your subconscious mind. Affirmations, hypnosis, visualization, etc.

By repeating and upbeat, optimistic phrase several times a day to yourself is called an affirmation. Through daily affirmations yoursubconscious mind will start to understand the message.

A daily affirmation to break a bad habit would be to constantly tell yourself over and over throughout the day that you no longer need whatever it was that was a bad habit, or I no longer choose to do whatever that habit was. If you want to bring up your self esteem you would tell yourself how good you are, how smart you are, how beautiful you are, and any other positive thoughts.

Consistently repeating affirmations they really do work. They are able to communicate with the subconscious mind. How you program your subconscious through your affirmations, will make you behave differently so be careful cause your mind will eventually understand the message.

Going even further with this thought is to realize that you can change anything about yourself. Whatever you want to change about yourself, will happen, and only 'you' can make it reality. This is what we call mindpower.

Visualize what you want to see happen. Using what you see to develop mindpower is when you can close your eyes and think about what you'd like to happen. Your subconscious state of mind will react powerfully to those pictures. If you see yourself being successful, and think about everything you ever wanted for yourself. Visualize the new car you wanted, or that house you had your eyes on. If you were to cut out pictures of all the things you want before you sit down to visualize it all, you will see it clearer, and be able to focus. Do this often, and eventually all these things will appear in your life.

Think of yourself as living with psychic powers, and communicating telepathically. This mindpower is powerful, and whatever you want to happen will. If you want to be able to see into the future or view remotely, just use the powerful mind.

Though hypnosis you can communicate with your subconscious mind and help to develop your mindpower. You can visit a professional hypnotist, or a hypnotherapist that will help you to get into a totally relaxed state and help you to get into your subconscious mind. Communicating subconsciously will help you to develop your mindpower. A trained hypnotist or hypnotherapist can help you put things into your subconscious mind which you will remember when you wake up.

There have been excellent results in self hypnosis. People will play a recording in which they are relaxed, and the recording begins to add the different suggestions into your subconscious mind. The great part of self hypnosis is being able to listen to it over and over, and also the price of self hypnosis is cheaper than using a hypnotist or a hypnotherapist.

There is a new audio technology called brainwave entrainment. This is where your brainwaves are synchronized with certain frequencies. Each frequency can control different things. If you can tune into the right frequency you may be able to improve your memory or heal and alleviate pain through releasing certain endorphins into your body.

Other frequencies allow you to get into a state of meditation very quickly. This is necessary for you to be to successfully communicate with your subconscious mind.

Specific frequencies can stimulate a part of your body known as the chakra energy center. This chakra energy is in the center of your forehead where a third eye would be. That is why they call it the third eye chakra which is responsible for the psychic powers.

It is believed that these powers are not even needed to be 'developed' they are already ready, just locked inside your mind. It used to be believed thousands of years ago, humans had enhanced mindpower but it had become repressed and locked within the mind.

So developing mindpower is really just unlocking all your powers and true potential of being a human being.

What Is A Guided Meditation?

By Ferdinand Emy

Guided meditation is a form of meditation where you are assisted via the course of your meditations. These can be short or long, and are more often than not listened to via your web browser, or downloaded for you to savor whenever and wherever you wish.

There are several characteristics to guided meditation. First and foremost, the guided meditation forces you to preserve your concentration on what you are listening to as you are meditating. This is extremely useful for those who tend to have their attentions wander. Through the utilize of someone speaking to you and the partnership of soothing music, guided meditation is one of the simpler forms of meditation to master. As many persons find success at this form of meditation, it has grown in popularity.

The second characteristic of guided meditation, and perhaps the most needed, is that this form of meditation gives you the foundation you require to meditate on your own. Regardless of whether you download your guided meditation as a track to be listened to via headphones or by speaker, or whether you have a teacher guiding you, these types of meditations give you what you require to learn how to meditate adequately. The Ultimate Fighter TUF

By Mike Edwards

UFC Ultimate fighter is fast becoming one of the biggest shows in America. Will it ever be the number one? Well, I guess that depends on who you ask. I personally think the sport is just going to continue getting bigger. Im not sure if it will ever be the number one sport though. This sport does appeal to a lot of age groups, which could be why the sport is expanding at such an incredible rate.

Why is UFC Ultimate Fighter show gaining such wide audiences? Is it because of the short, fast paced, 5 minute rounds, which can be a non-stop adrenaline rush! With fights ending in knockout or submissions before the first round even ends. Is it because the sport appeals to so many different age groups or is it because its new and exciting, will it phase out in a few years?

With the UFC being noticed now for being athletes, who train just as hard, perhaps even harder than normal athletes! Will this sport finally gain the respect it deserves? It used to be called a blood sport or cock fighting. In fact I believe some people still regard the sport as that. Do people realize the discipline involved now, the constant workouts for strength, conditioning and of course the martial arts training. With the fighters spending weeks in a house together with no television, phones, well basically any outside communication is banned. You can imagine the stress these fighters go through. Hopefully it will be worth it all for one fighter that will win a six figure UFC contract.

This sport has gone through some remarkable transformations over the years. The UFC has done remarkable things for MMA with the UFC Ultimate Fighter show. What one was viewed only by a few thousand people at most, to now broad casted to millions of people over America.

With impressive sales and huge demand, the UFC is the number one place for fighters to go to. If you want to fight the best fighters in the world you will have to break into the UFC ranks. Once there you will be able to make a very nice living, well if youre good.

So if youre new to this sport, and you have just starting to follow the UFC Ultimate Fighter show you are in for a great ride. If youre already a fan and have been following the show for a while, Im sure you will agree with me, this is a fantastic sport which will only get bigger.

An uncompromising man: Master Doug Cook

By Master Erica Linthorst

You may have read his monthly columns in TaeKwonDo Times magazine or one of his books (Taekwondo: Ancient Wisdom for the Modern Warrior or Traditional Taekwondo: Core Techniques, History, and Philosophy). On the eve of the publication of his next book, I thought I’d share this interview so you will gain some insights into the man behind the writing, Master Doug Cook.

Hopefully, this interview will inspire you to keep reading as you continue practicing; to seek information from many sources; and to search for the meaning that motivates you.

Q1. FOR OUR READERS, PLEASE TELL US ABOUT HOW YOU FIRST BECAME INVOLVED IN MARTIAL ARTS AND WHY YOU FOCUSED ON TAEKWONDO.

MDC: My father was a pacifist minister who was concerned about protecting his family. Although not a fighter myself, I did believe that there is more to fighting arts – an intellectual, thinking context where one could develop a quiet confidence that comes with training. Like most people, I didn’t know the difference between training styles. But the steadfast and focused practice of TKD blended with my personality. I was a late beginner – entering the field in my 30’s.

Q2. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE BALANCE DURING YOUR TKD STUDENT YEARS? HOW DID THAT BALANCE SHIFT OVER TIME? WHY?

MDC: I guess it was a matter of right time, right place. I believe in the I Ching paradigm “Everything happens in its appointed time.” I was president of a large company in NYC but in an industry that was dying. I had the chance to train, and in the beginning it was only on Wednesdays and Sundays. As the industry faltered, my commitment to training grew (’93-’94). I switched jobs so that I would have greater opportunity to train. Ultimately, I followed what my heart said and in 1997 with voices echoing “Go slow and steady” I opened the school: Chosun TaeKwonDo Academy.

Q3. WHO HAS INSPIRED AND MOTIVATED YOU? HOW?

MDC: When I was a yellow belt I read Grand Master Richard Chun’s Advancing in Martial Arts. At that time, for me, thinking, practice, and dedication were very important. By association, I met Grand Master Byung Min Kim, who’s technical precision was something to behold and try to emulate. Grand Master Jung Chul Lee was also influential in my training and my worn copy of The Making of a Master by Sang Kyu Shim is testimony to how much I learned and to which I often refer nowadays as well.

Q4. WHEN DID YOU REALIZE THAT YOU HAD SOMETHING BIGGER TO OFFER TO MARTIAL ARTS ENTHUSIASTS AND HOW DID THAT MANIFEST ITSELF?

MDC: I have been journaling for over 30 years and see writing as one of my strengths. After reading Chun and Shim (above) I had to write an essay for my 1st dan . I called it “In the Shadow of the Hwarang”. Although it was only about 4 pages, it evolved into my first book, Taekwondo: Ancient Wisdom for the Modern Warrior. I had and continue to develop a strong appreciation for the Korean culture and wanted to communicate its underlying importance to the practice of TKD.

Q5. YOU HAVE BEEN A SUCCESSFUL COLUMNIST FOR TaeKwonDo Times MAGAZINE FOR MANY NOW AND YOU HAVE ALSO PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED TWO WELL-RESEARCHED AND HIGHLY-ACCLAIMED BOOKS. AS YOU ARE ABOUT TO PUBLISH YOUR THIRD BOOK, CAN YOU SHARE WITH US THE MOTIVATION TO BRING IT TO MARKET? WITHOUT TELLING ALL, CAN YOU PLEASE TEMPT US WITH SOME OF THE UNDERLYING THEMES?

MDC: My first book emphasized philosophy; the second focused on technique. In both cases I not only saw a need to bring this information to the general public but found that my students and magazine readership kept asking for more. Distilled to its essence, TaeKwonDo should be practices with intent; not in combat or to inflict injury. When Grand Master Richard Chun said “We have to practice purpose” I took it to heart. So Taekwondo: A Path to Excellence emphasizes the doctrine of purpose; realizing excellence through sincere practice; and taking lessons learned over time to share.

Q6. WOULD YOU LEAVE US WITH A FEW WORDS OF INSPIRATION?

MDC: Taekwondo is a grand mosaic. If you do not recognize all pieces, then there is a gap. Accept TKD as a whole practice with all of its parts and, VISIT KOREA!

About the Author:
Master Erica Linthorst, World Taekwondo Federation fifth-dan, has earned all her black belts at the Kukkiwon. She lived with her family in Korea for six years, then moved to Japan where she was the only foreigner to run a long-term successful TKD program for five years. While passionate about Tae Kwon Do, she has also studied Aikido and KumYeDo (Korean swordsmanship). She currently lives in New York and travels frequently.

And I'm proud to call her my good friend!  ka

Power Yoga Videos Will Get You In Shape

By Becky Waters

Everybody wants to feel and appear their best. Yoga is a great way to do that, and it works for at least just relaxation and strength, it can tone your whole body, especially if you do power yoga. Power yoga isn't like traditional yoga in many ways, but the goal is the same, to make your body look good.

Power Yoga is a fairly new form of yoga which has been influenced from 2 different forms of yoga known as Ashtanga and Vinyasa. Power yoga is a mixture of these forms of yoga positions and exercises. Power yoga is a challenging, physical workout, that may test and push physical, mental and emotional limits. The power yoga workout is a test of the person's concentration and physical abilities.

In standard yoga, poses should be followed in a selected sequence, but power yoga differs, as this isn't the case, making this a truly unique yoga form. Power Yoga works with the person's body to extend stamina and does not need to be done in any order, in truth, each power yoga class is as unique as the coach who teaches it.

Power Yoga is upbeat and causes perspiration, meaning burning calories and ridding your body of damaging poisons that are consumed. Since you are doing an optimistic routine, metabolism is increased, helping to dump unwished-for pounds. This kind of yoga is great for relieving stress. Lower levels of stress will help with hypertension, leading to hypertension. Additionally getting your heart pumping helps increase blood flow and can increase circulation for those with poor circulation.

Doing power yoga is a wonderful exercise and is best done one or two hours or more before bed. Doing such a physical workout before bed is likely to make it hard to sleep, so the earlier the better. It is also critical for woman who are pregnant to avoid power yoga as it is really exhausting. A doctor's approval before beginning this type of class is the best course of action for anyone. If you can get approval and do this early enough not to mess with sleep, you are in for a great exercise routine that may give you all the advantages you could need.

Power yoga isn't for those who are on the lookout for a lengthy, calm activity. UFC Anderson "Spider" Silva

By Josh Haynes

UFC President, Dana White has given his thoughts on middleweight champion, Anderson Silvas domination at 185 pounds, saying after two more fights he will have completely cleared out the division.

Speaking to 5thround.com, Dana said:

Hes probably two fights away from literally emptying out the middleweight division. But that's great. I think in my opinion, that's what makes fighters great. When there's not another guy standing where people go, What about him? He might win. When they're all gone, then the guy moves up to the next weight class and does the same thing. I think that's what makes guys legendary, fighters that people remember forever."

I wouldn't want to see [Silva] vacate the title until everybody's gone...Ill give you an example. Lets say Vitor (Belfort) comes in, and Vitor has to fight Dan Henderson and (Nate) Marquardt, and he goes right in and knocks both of them out in the first round. Anderson vacated the title, and people go, Oh, Vitor would have beat him. You annihilate everybody. You don't leave a guy standing in the division, and then you move.

Silva has already had two fights at light heavyweight and finished them even more impressively than his recent middleweight bouts. You have to wonder, with his friend and training partner, Lyoto Machida the 205 pound champion, will The Spider only be confined to super fights or will Dana talk him in to facing The Dragon?

What will the future hold for the Spider if he beats Belfort? Will anyone at 185lbs weight class ever beat him? Is there anyone that could even challenge him or even get passed the 1st round? With this seemingly more and more unlikely, will Anderson have to move up to the 205lbs weight class permanently? Will he be able to walk through that division too? So many questions! One thing is for sure whoever he fights you can guarantee you will be in for a show.

Anderson da Silva (born April 14, 1975) is a Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter. He is the current UFC Middleweight Champion, and holds the record for the longest winning streak in the UFC with 10 wins. Anderson holds a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Antnio Rodrigo Nogueira who follows Gracie Lineage through Carlson Gracie, ergo Murilo Bustamante and the Brazilian Top Team.

He currently trains with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida through Black House. Silva is currently ranked as the number one middleweight in the world by multiple MMA publications, Sherdog and Yahoo! rank Silva as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Since 2006 he has been the UFC Middleweight Champion, and he is also the last Cage Rage Middleweight Champion and former Shooto Middleweight Champion. Besides the UFC and Cage Rage, Silva has fought for a number of other MMA promotions including the Pride Fighting Championships, Shooto and Rumble on the Rock. Silva holds notable victories over PRIDE FC Middleweight and Welterweight Champion Dan Henderson, 7 time King of Pancrase Nate Marquardt, former Shooto Welterweight Champion Hayato Sakurai, former UFC Welterweight Champion Carlos Newton and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin in addition to a pair of stoppages over former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin.
