Important Yoga Postures And Exercises

If you are planning to take up yoga then you should arm yourself with as much knowledge as you can as it is a very wide subject. It is good to know about what the most common yoga postures and poses are and the effects that these can have on the body. It is never a bad idea to start yoga; it is finding a place in more peoples lives every year and for good reasons. Your overall health can be dramatically enhanced.

There are hundreds of poses and postures available, every expert will rave about particular merits of certain positions. Before you start to do yoga it makes sense to discuss the topic with an experienced practitioner. It is usually more rewarding to attend yoga classes initially rather than doing the exercises by yourself; this way you will get the maximum benefit.

The following postures should provide you with an all-round introduction. They are not necessarily the most common but they will cover many systems and parts of the body.

1. Kundalini Yoga Grind: This posture is essential to all serious forms of yoga practice. It will benefit your digestive system, elimination system, and help strengthen the lower back ready for more extensive forms of yoga. It is a great way to warm up.

2. Kundalini Yoga Rowing: This exercise will free up your hips and can help to develop a greater amount of flexibility in the hamstrings. It can also be beneficial for your shoulders and abs.

3. Yoga Forward Bend (Pashimothan Asana): This is a very common yoga posture. It is perhaps the most important Hatha yoga pose. When doing this exercise you will be stretching your full back and all the associated muscles and ligaments. It is often said that it can promote spontaneous well being and a long healthy life.

4. Stretch Posture For Abs: This is perhaps the best posture for improving your abs. It is easy to do for beginners and can also be modified for expert practitioners. It is an excellent way to work on your Navel Chakra and can improve your energy and willpower.

5. Dhanur Asana: This posture is also referred to as the Bow Pose. It can give your body a greater level of flexibility. It will also develop your respiratory and digestive systems and can make you feel and look much younger than your actual age.

6. Plough Pose: This posture may not be so suitable for beginners though it can be altered somewhat. It puts pressure and massages specific points on the body and the chakras. It will enhance the Sexual system and chakra as well as the heart and Anahata Chakra.

7. Kundalini Archer Pose: This is a great yoga posture. It will expand many aspect of you nature including your energy, nervous system, lung capacity, confidence, and self esteem. It is important to breathe strongly when using this posture.

These are only a very few of the important yoga postures, you may want to use a different selection. To find which is best for you it is important to discuss your desired outcomes with an expert so that you can use your time productively.

  4. Yoga is so powerful and healthful it amazes me that more people don't try it. Many of my friends complain all the time about health issues that are clearly just brought on by the stresses of modern living and could be so easily prevented by yoga.

  5. For some people, Yoga can be very difficult, especially in Taekwondo. Since there is a big difference in the energy systems and muscle structure that is being used, even some of the top Taekwondo athletes can have difficulty with yoga.

    It's not something to be taken lightly, but doing it can definitely extend your Taekwondo career.

  6. It's good to have some specific exercises to focus on. Our energy can easily become blocked and movements such as the ones you mention help to keep the flowing.
    Blocked energy usually accompanies illness and disease in the body.
