Anger Management For Children

By Colin Jones

Anger, which is a perfectly normal emotion, can transform itself into something frightening and ugly. The first impression you might have of anger issues may bring about images of a couple fighting, a parent abusing a child, a teenager lashing out at a teacher or a parent. Rarely will images of angry children come to mind. Unfortunately kids, at very young ages, have to deal with feelings of anger and rage. This is a truth which is often very difficult for adults to understand or deal with.

Children, young children especially, aren't normally aware of how they feel. When a child becomes upset or mad they simply show these emotions through their behavior. A good example of this might be a little boy in a supermarket who throws a tantrum because he's upset. Many parents have had to deal with similar situations. It is unfortunate that often these occurrences are overlooked or dismissed because they are "just children". Anger management in kids is as important, or perhaps even more important than anger management in adults.

A youth requires instruction and guidance from their coming into the world to their entry into adulthood. The things they learn throughout their young lives are likely to form the person they become as an adult. For this reason, anger management in children with difficulties controlling their temper is extremely important. Finding ways to teach anger management for kids might present challenges.

There are programs designed especially for children with frustration, anxiety and anger management issues. Finding one that works for a particular child might require testing many methods. Not all children will respond to the same treatments for anger management for children. Because a child cannot always relate their feelings surrounding angry outburst, finding the right way of tackling it may take some time. Until the issue is resolved or at least controlled, it is imperative to continue the search.

Young kids may respond well to worksheets, games and fun activities. All of these can be used effectively to teach anger management for kids. Developing programs which incorporate each of these might be the best route to take. A child completing a worksheet, colouring sheet or participating in games and activities with underlying messages regarding anger management, may not even realize they are working on their problem.

Making the activity fun doesn't mean that the anger issue has to be left out. Choosing fun activities which teach healthy interaction and decision making might be good for anger management for kids. Teaching them to take turns and helping them to learn that they can't always be the best or the winner would definitely make a difference when confrontational situations arise. Small activities which instill values and positive thinking would be helpful for anger management for youths.

If a kid is old enough to talk about their anger problem, encouraging them to share their emotions is important. Suggesting they talk to someone who they feel comfortable with and trust is a good idea regarding anger management in children. Asking them to write or make a drawing about their emotions may help them disclose their underlying issues, whether fear, hurt or sadness.

Teaching them to ask for help when they feel threatened or angry would definitely help the child with an anger-related problem. The important detail to realize when considering anger management in children are they are just "children". Their minds are not equipped to handle adult situations and so they will require a more careful approach.

Easy Meditation Techniques Anyone Can Do

By Trevor Johnson

No matter how busy your life is you can apply these easy meditation techniques into your schedule. Your spirit and soul will become more relaxed and feel rejuvenated.

1. One of the easiest of these ways is meditation on a transcendental level. This works with chants or words which are repetitive in nature. These could be anything from a favorite word or phrase to soothing rhythmic sounds that have a repeating structure to them. To begin this meditation you will get your breathing regulated with the chant or sounds. You will start to feel a sense of relaxation and calm about you an your spirit and mind will feel refreshed. You usually do these meditation for 15-20 minutes as often as you need them.

This is one of the most used in easy meditation techniques. You will need to do this in a space were you feel safe and undisturbed. Get into a comfortable sitting position and keep eyes closed. Get rid of any thoughts you may be having, make your mind a clean slate. Take a very deep breath and do not exhale until a three count. Now exhale and keep it going for a six count. You should repeat this for as long as 30 minutes or until you feel the desired level of relaxation.

3. The third technique is called a colored bubble technique. This works with you imagining something you wish to come true, and then imagine that is has. Deep in your mind clearly visualize this. Now place that dream/wish inside a glowing bubble of your color choice and then let the bubble drift away into the world above and beyond. Keep your wish and vision still in your minds eye. Then relax and let go of it completely. Your wish/dream is out in the world gathering enough energy to manifest into a reality for you.

Using any meditation techniques regularly or combined with yoga is a great way of keeping your spirit and mind as healthy as they can be.

Your are ready for a journey of the soul and finding a healthier way of life using these easy meditation techniques a few times each week.

Do Human Chakras Really Exist?

By Tom Om

Conventional literature on human chakras and chakra healing is full of all esoteric and mystical claims in an unconvincingly authoritative way. Sounds like they are talking of another world altogether that you and I do not seem to have any real connection with!

The reason for these 'secrets' are hidden societies, which know the existence of energy bodies for so long, but kept it hidden to the mainstream. since profound knowledge was always only for the inner circles. For those who could 'understand.'

However, due to the new paradigm changes to heart oriented living - what we call New Age - all old and hidden gems are now openly released to the public, so that everybody has the chance to develop their body, soul and spirit.

The human chakras allow us to activate the human energy bodies as a whole unit.

The energy in the human chakras flow like a river and should not be cornered in some points in order to maintain the development of the body system.

The human chakras give an effective way of improving one's life. They can also promote a vigorous strength and maintain and also level-up the awe-inspiring lifestyle of every human being.

Don't you find some people more energetic than the rest around them? They might be quite lean and frail but still, they are energetic. It does not have to do anything with their body structure or strength.

They simply do not stop the flow of energy through their body; or do so less than the rest. Let's move on to the journey of understanding the meaning and purpose of some of these human chakras:

BASE CHAKRA: Physically relates to - legs, feet, base of spine, bones, kidneys If imbalanced - unstable, insecure, hunger/weight gain, constipation, arthritis, spinal tension, knee problems

SACRAL CHAKRA: In physical aspects - reproductive system, sexual organs and lumbar plexus. In vigilant aspects - it is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with food and sex. And ability of person to have children is also associated with this chakra.

SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA: In physical aspects - the large intestine, stomach, liver, and other organs and glands in the region of the solar plexus. In vigilant aspects - perceptions concerned with power, control, freedom, the ease with which one is able to be themselves - ease of being, mental activity and the mental body.

HEART CHAKRA: In physical aspects - heart and the blood circulatory system, the cardiac plexus, lungs and the entire chest area. In vigilant aspects - it is associated with perceptions of love, relationships and difficulty with breathing.

THROAT CHAKRA: In concrete ways - mouth, teeth, jaw, arms, neck, throat and ears. In anxious ways - sore throats, neck ache, cervical problems of the neck, Gum problems, tooth decay and hearing problems.

BROW CHAKRA: In physical aspects- eyes, sinuses, base of skull and temporal lobes. In vigilant aspects - migraines, poor vision including blindness, neurological disturbances and glaucoma, nightmares, learning difficulties and hallucinations.

CROWN CHAKRA: In physical aspects - the top of the head, the brain, and the entire nervous system. In vigilant aspects - perceptions of unity or separation, sense of isolation and aloneness, depression and lack of enthusiasm.

Having an universal knowledge about human chakras can give you the outermost level in fulfilling your life.

Manifestation, Abundance And You

By Tina Eastman

Manifestation refers to the ability to 'make things happen.' This is a relatively simplistic explanation but one that we can all work with. Manifestation is a power that we all have to one degree or another. Tapping into the power that we currently have and being able to harness it more directly is something that we can work at and become much more adept at.

Sometimes this is because we are told outright that we have no control and other times it is because life's weight bears down on us from a very young age and we just don't realize that we have more power than we know. Yet, even under the various matters that weighs down our minds we still have the power of manifestation and anyone who wants to start tapping into it can do so with discipline.

As very young children, we had very powerful minds. As we grew we were told repeatedly that we had to give up the power we found in our minds. It was childish, according to the grown ups we were surrounded with, and so little by little we allowed our minds to falter in their own abilities. Fortunately, we can take back that power if we want to.

Manifestation is still a part of our daily life. It is just a very small part and it is covered up under the word 'attitude.' We get sick and people remind us that healing is also a mental process. We chase down our goals and all the helpful people who told us to let go of our mind's capabilities now remind us that we have to stay focused. On a mundane level, this is a 'safe' form of manifestation that is acceptable in our normal circles.

What we feed our mind is important. What information we give it to process and focus on will help determine the direction our life takes. When we focus on small details of life that have no bearing on our mission forward we are less likely to be able to practice manifestation skills.

The adult mind is highly cluttered which is why we have such a hard time accessing our own senses. Bills, bosses, and bull weighs heavily on our hearts and minds and prevents us from developing the mind tools that will help us take the steps right out of where we are. When we are stressed it is harder to tap into our mind's abilities.

However, if we take the time to develop our ability to clear our mind and tap into our own sense and ability we will find that we become literally much more focused and capable of completing what we are looking for.

Manifestation is possible for anyone who becomes disciplined when it comes to mastering the abilities that are already there. Once you master the ability that is natural to you, developing the abilities further is much easier.

Information On What Factors Affect Motivation

By Trevor Johnson

Many leaders ask themselves, what factors affect motivation. It is important, as a leader, in understanding what motivates others. Throughout the years, there have been several theories on what motivates the general populace. Most agree, however, that when one is motivated, conditions are developed that are believed will help move one to a desired behavior.

There are several ways that one can motivate others.

Through Curiosity:If something is presented to a person that peaks their interest, they are more willing to complete the task. The reason being is that their interest is satisfied as they learn going from task to task. Think about it, you're less likely to do things that are boring, the same goes for others.

Then there is motivation through challenges. Most individuals actually like a challenge. If there is a reward that they deem worth it at the end of a hard task, this could motivate them into working hard. This applies in the work force and in their home life.

Motivating through control is another technique. Workers like to feel as if they control at least a portion of what they do, or feel as if what they are doing is making a difference. Once given a clear cut task with a known goal, they then know what they must do to achieve that goal. This lets them feel as if they are in control of what they are doing.

Motivation through competition is another. There is a satisfaction knowing that you have done just as well or better than the person beside you. This will make a worker strive to continuously do more. Although this works for many people, there are those that do not have a competitive edge and this can actually demotivate them.

Lastly, there is the recognition technique. Workers like to know when they do well. Once their goal is accomplished and they are recognized for their work, this makes them want to continue in doing more work. Their work should not be compared to another worker's, but should be able to receive its own reward standing alone.

Meditation and Massage: Answer to Chronic Pains

By Douglas Simchic

Sometimes people work so hard that it has a negative effect on their health leaving them vulnerable to have to leave the work force early leaving them with little or no rewards for financial stability.

One of the most common problems associated with this is chronic pain. In this article, you will find useful information about chronic pain and how two alternative treatment methods, meditation and massage can do wonders in alleviating the symptoms caused by this condition.

What is chronic pain?

Chronic pain is usually part of a type of injury of disease that after several weeks or days doesn't go away but in fact is more persistent. Chronic pain if the kind of pain that persists long for a long period of time beyond the temporal course of natural healing.

What is meditation?

Meditation focuses on a single thought to soothe the mind, however Eastern styles of meditation use meditation to motivate the mind to cease thinking, thus they call it "non-thought". Either way you meditate, meditation is the method to medicine that focuses on the form of thought.

What is massage?

The release of toxins in the body, the release of stress and tension, and the deep muscle relaxation are all benefits of massage. Massage is a therapeutic method that involves soft tissue manipulations and kneading that can be structured or unstructured, stationary or moving, tension, motion or vibration usually with the hands or with the use of supplementary tools like massage stones or massage oils.

Massage and Meditation can help chronic pains:

Meditation helps chronic pain by improving oxygen consumption, reduce stres caused by this kind of pain, and improve mood levels. Massage helps reduce muscle tension and calm the body-removing the pain. Massage is often combined with meditation to eradicate stress in the body and mind.

A person who meditates can focus on other positive areas of thought to distract him or her from the pain they are feeling. Meditation motivates focused attention and while this will not completely eradicate the pain itself, it helps a person pay attention and respond positively to pain sensations.

How do you use massage and meditation for chronic pain? It is advisable to get a massage at least once a month. Better yet, consult a doctor and get advice on how often you are required to have massage therapy for your chronic pain. As for meditation, try finding a restful position that gives you the least amount of pain. While in that position, relax by taking slow deep breaths and relaxing your body and mind.

For a beginner this process may be difficult but with a professional guiding you- pay attention to the areas of the body that gives you pain. Listen to your thoughts, and discover the link between the thoughts and the pain. Trace the pain and learn to confine that pain in such a way that it will not affect your total being anymore.

Massage and meditation will not completely eliminate the problem of chronic pain. Therefore, it is still better to consult a medical doctor about this condition. However, you may make use of massage and meditation to alleviate the symptoms, feel better about yourself, and distract yourself from the pain that this condition is giving you.

The Effect of Science Fiction on Martial Arts

By Al Case

A lot of the martial arts, like karate, are fiction. Hit a guy up the nose with a palm and bone shards will spear into his brain and kill him, except there isn't any bone in the nose, its all cartilage. And all those old legends, a lot of them are good for hogwash, if you have a willing hog.

But, there is a certain science in the martial arts that is true. This is the science of geometrical energy potentials. I discovered this field in a series of books called the Lensmen Series.

I suppose the first time it hit me was when E. E. Smith, the author, described spacemen fighting on the hull of a space ship. They were hooking their feet under hand grips so they would not fly into space when they hit somebody. They were anchoring themselves so they could apply force, and not have the force dislodge them.

Soon I was wrapped in a universe where weapons created geometries of force. If a death ray was a rod like beam, it could be deflected by a shield. And if a shield could deflect, then a shield sheared sideways could slice into the first shield.

Soon I was imagining entire fleets of space ships creating their own particular brand of strategy. Armies of space ships would form globes around other armies, and cones of spaceships would swallow globes of entire armies. Each time a geometry was described, my mind struggled to imagine the wave of new concepts.

Then, shock of shocks, fleets of spaceships gave way to the powers of the mind. Those same rods and shields and globes and cones, made real in the ultimate space combat, became the stuff of mind to mind encounters. How do you slide your awareness through the grid of another minds awareness?

And, ultimately, having exhausted the books, I began extending those outer space alien mind combat strategies to the field of the martial arts. I sank my weight into deep horse stances, planted my stance so I would not fly away from my own force. I described cones with the movements of my arms, and engulfed the globes of fists as they flew out of space at me.

When I tell people about what has inspired me they generally think I am a bit crazy, or they realize I am a genius. Reading sci fi for inspiration in the martial arts, who would have thought? Yet, it is all art, and should not art be filled with creativity and expression and beams of force and mind to mind conflicts?

All meditation techniques require a few things in common. One is a quiet and relaxing place that is free of any distractions. Whether they are noises, sights or even the movement of other people around you it can be difficult to build the deep level of concentration that meditation requires if they continually intrude on your consciousness. Often, it is recommended that you establish one area that is set aside for meditation alone. This can help you get in the meditation mode before you have even begun your practice for the day.

If you have already heard of meditation techniques, there are a few that you may have found are referred to again and again. Three of these include Buddhist meditation, Zen meditation and transcendental meditation. In fact, Buddhist and Zen meditations are often tied together and referred to as Zen Buddhist meditation.

With Buddhist and Zen meditative techniques, you begin by concentrating on your breathing. You pay attention to the feel of it moving in and out of your mouth, nose and throat. You think about how it feels as it fills your lungs. Any time you think about another topic, such as an everyday problem or issue, you return to concentrating on your breathing again. With Zen meditation however, you introduce a profound thought or koan which you think about in detail. Questions such as the well known Koans include thoughts such as pondering the sound of one hand clapping. Transcendental meditation uses the chanting of a particular sound such as "ohm" in order to act as a meditative focus.

If you are interested in learning more about meditation methods there are a number of excellent websites which can give you information and resources. These can help you expand and enrich your meditative practice. You may be amazed at how profoundly a good meditation practice can improve your life.
